The team finished 2-3 in the tournament by beating Boulder Valley and Hyland Hills and losing to Aspen, Arapahoe once and then again in the finals 2-1. The loss in the final game was a heartbreaker as the team was in the offensive zone nearly the whole game, losing the gamewinner to a fluky goal. The team experienced success on special teams by killing off 22 penalties, compared to only having 5 powerplays of their own, and gave up only two power play goals. Austin Dinis was the high scorer with 3 goals overall. "We had a great tournament," said Squirt A team manager Sara Hop. "Playing 5 games in under 36 hours, and facing 4 on 5 at least 10 minutes of every game. Our boys did great and we can't wait to play Arapahoe again in the regular season."

The Jr. Eagles Squirt Selects were named the Champions of the Chicago Cup Tournament held May 16 – 18, 2008. The Jr. Eagles participated in pool play with teams representing Team Delta (St. Louis), Lapeer Storm, (Michigan), Chicago Jr. Blues, and Skokie Flyers (Illinois) and entered the tournament finals undefeated. During the Championship Game, the Jr. Eagles defeated the Lapeer Storm in a 6-1 finish. The Tournament MVP, who had a hat trick in the championship game was awarded to 8 year old, Brian Lockner. The boys exhibited great enthusiasm and discipline during the entire weekend and had great fun at team meals, swimming in the pool and thanks to the Peewee Select Team, chasing the “ghost” in the hotel. The 2008 Squirt Spring Select coaching staff was head coach Mitch Knight and assistant coaches Paul Cooley and Aaron Grosul.
The Jr. Eagles Pee Wee Selects had a terrific tournament as well. The Peewee Jr. Eagles went into the semi finals with only one loss during the round robin. They played a terrific semi final game against a good Meramec Sharks team (St. Louis). The team played with hard fought effort throughout the game and with a few more bounces their way , we very easily could have seen the Peewee Jr. Eagles in the championship game. The coaching staff of Sean O’Leary and Mark Devine did a tremendous job transforming this team into a championship contender in a mere six weeks. The boys although not hunting the “ghost” at the hotel also had a great deal of fun on and off the ice in Chicago.
Only three weeks into their spring season the Jr. Eagles squirt Selects participated in the first ever NCYH Spring Warm Up tournament with great success. The Wyoming Wind and the Wyoming Oilers also took part in the tournament fielding two great teams. It all came down to the undefeated Wind and the 2-2 Jr. Eagles in the championship match up. The Wind who had defeated the Jr. Eagles twice in the round robin, both times by a single goal came ready to play the championship game. The Jr. Eagles over came a late third period two goal deficit to take the Wind to overtime and eventually win in a thrilling shoot out. The coaching staff of head coach Mitch Knight and assistant coaches Paul Cooley and Aaron Grosul were extremely happy with the way the boys played. The team showed a tremendous amount of character coming back in the championship game and we are all looking forward to the weeks ahead capping it all off with a great tournament in Chicago.
